15 Month Check-Up

So, I happened to look at my planner around 10:30 this morning and realized that Olivia had her 15 month check-up scheduled for this afternoon. Pregnancy brain I tell you.

All is well and Olivia is a healthy little runt. She weighs 22 lbs, is 30 inches long and continues to have a small head. Weight is just under the 50%ile, height is around the 40%ile and head circumference, well, the 20%ile. It no longer bothers me that she has a Beetlejuice head, as I feel that she is the cutest darn Beetlejuice known to man, though Michael Keaton was pretty cute too. It did dawn on me that I do know where Olivia gets her little head and of course it is from me. When I buy baseball hats I can literally wear kid sizes and adult ones are always too big. Go figure.

For some reason I was unaware (don't ask me why, pregnancy brian again) that Olivia would receive not one, not two, but three shots today. She didn't even blink an eye with the first shot, but all hell broke loose on the second and third. The kid cried like you wouldn't believe. Of course, she gave Brandi (her nurse) "the eye" and refused to look at her or wave bye when we were leaving. She WILL be a grudge holder or a harborer of feelings (hmm, another trait of her mom's).

When I ask Olivia where her nose is now, she promptly touches her nose (maybe that is because she picks it to make me say "icy no picky"). She also touches her eye when I ask where her eye is (maybe that is because she tries to gouge mine out on a dialy basis) and knows what her toe toes are (maybe because she sucks the stupid things to tick me off). We are working on mouth and ear. She gets bored rather quickly when I repeatedly ask her to do things that are not on her agenda.

Now, a testimonial as to how smart Olivia really is. On Playhouse Disney there are two monkeys, Ooh and Aah who do little skits, sing and introduce the shows that will be coming on (if you are not familiar with Playhouse Disney, then I highly suggest you spend some quality time watching it on a daily basis). Well, at the end of Playhouse Disney time Ooh and Aah sing a goodbye song that goes "Ooh Ooh, Ooh Ooh, Aah Aah, Bye Bye, Ooh Ooh, Aah Aah, Bye Bye, Bye Bye". So, the other day Olivia and I are heading out and about in the pouring down rain after purchasing our FAVORITE new diaper bag (long story, ask later) and we are listening to the new Playhouse Disney CD I bought for us to listen to in the car (she absolutely loves it, I swear). Anyway, we are driving along and Ooh and Aah come on (they are the MC's for the CD) and they start singing a little bit of a different version (minus the bye bye part) but Olivia immediately starts saying "bye bye" every few seconds and waving. At first I thought maybe she was just saying bye bye, because she does say it out of the blue once in a while, but it was totally for the song. She did it again on the way home from the doctor today. Then, I began singing it in the living room after dinner and Olivia filled in with the "bye bye" part. Smart (another trait of her mom's).

Oh, and because I have not talked about poop in a really long time, I would like to share that Olivia no longer has nugget issues and poops with the best of them now. She has truly earned her name of Poopy Pants. Kim LOVES it!
