Go Twins Go!

We ventured north to Minneapolis on Sunday to catch a Twins vs. Red Sox game with our friends Kelly and Chris (who happen to be Sox fans). Now, at the time of buying our tickets, which was months ago, Olivia's favorite word was NOT "down" and her favorite thing to do was NOT run around like a mad woman. Well, things change in the span of 2 or 3 months. I can honestly say that I was dreading the weekend and was almost willing to take a loss on the $80 some dollars we spent on tickets. But, I prayed for the best and off we went Sunday morning. Kelly is from the Minneapolis area (traitor, cheering for the Red Sox) so we stayed with her parents Sunday afternoon and night. We had a wonderful time and Olivia slept most of the time (nap from 2:30-5:00 when we got there and then bed from 8:00 to the next morning). When she was awake she entertained all of us with her dancing and babbling.

Now, on to Monday's game. I was fully expecting to chase Olivia around the Metrodome for the majority of the game, which is not fun to do period, especially now that I am supposed to be taking it easy and lifting her as little as possible. Man, did this child shock the heck out of Chuck and I. She sat through the entire game (no one had to get up and walk with her once). OK, I use the word sat loosely, as she went from lap to lap and stood on Chuck most of the time. Poor Chuck didn't see hardly any of the game because he was holding Olivia most of the time (she likes to stand on my stomach, which is not a good thing at this point). She became a little fussy at one point because she didn't get a nap, but after a few minutes she was either so tired she was delirious or she got a second wind because she was happy, clapping, dancing and cheering. I also thought on the car ride back home she would completely crash. Wrong again. Olivia took a 20 minute cat nap at the very start of our trip home, then was wide awake the rest of the trip.

All in all we had a great 2 days in Minneapolis. Too bad the Twins lost. Though Joe Mauer did come in during the last inning with 2 outs, 3 runs down with a runner on 1st and knocked a 2 run hommer. Too bad the next guy flied out.
