Watch Out

Olivia has this push toy that turns into a car thingy she can sit on and ride. Well, when it was a push toy she never pushed it and now that she can ride it, she wants to push it. So, I turned it back into a push toy on Saturday, took down the baby gates and let her push it all over the house. I must add that she was thrilled that the gates were down, though it didn't last long, as she started pulling on the sliding glass door blinds in the dining room, so they went back up. Well, as she is pushing her toy into the living room, nowhere near where the dog is laying down, she veers towards him and once she is within inches of him she rudely says "ch out, Dodo" (aka watch out Dodo) and runs him down. Are you serious kid? She later looked at me and said "ch out, mom", though she made a wise decision and did not run me down. She now says "ch out, Dodo" on a regular basis, just to be sating it.

While the gates were down, I noticed that Olivia was in the kitchen and was rather quiet. This is not necessarily a good thing. So I called out to her and asked her what she was doing. She came around the corner with her purple ball and said "I'm playing with my ball" (duh mom), turned around and walked away. Now, I wasn't sure if that was what I really heard because it simply amazes me what is coming out of her mouth these days. So, I looked at my mother-in-law and asked her if that was what my child had just said to me. Sure enough, Granny B heard it as well. The funny thing was that she said it in such a way that made me feel like a complete idiot for even asking such a question. Oh, it has only just begun hasn't it?
